
Division of the National Passport Center
The National Passport Center is divided in five (5) Sections.

Purviews
1st Data Base Input and Processing Section
- Receives the applications and the other supporting documents from the Police Services and Consulates, where they have been deposited from those interested.
- Puts them in at the data base for further processing.
- Sends the passports that have been issued and the supporting documents for the delivery to the beneficiaries and the filing respectively.
- Prepares the legal frame, which has passports as an object and leads the Regional Services of the Hellenic Police and other authorized State Authorities for the application of this legislation.
- Has the responsibility of the security of the Division's facilities.
2nd Check and Approval Section
- Checks the completeness and the originality of the supporting documents and their correct registration in the processing electronical system.
- Ascertains the existence of the legal conditions for the passport's issue to those interested and approves or rejects the demands.
3rd Print and Quality Control Section
- Prints passports, checks their quality and the correctness of the recorded personal data and also care for the distraction of those which don't have the necessary terms.
- Supplies the Service with the necessary consumables and other materials for the passport's issue and cares for their safeguard and management.
- Cares for the determination of the passports booklet's safety specifications.
4th Data processing Section
- Determines the electronic data processing operations which are necessary for the accomplishment of the Division's mission and maintains the passports and statistic electronic data base.
- Records in data bases the stolen, lost and invalidated passports.
- Observes the correct operation of the central computer system of the National Passport Center and looks after its maintenance.
5th Emergency Issue Section
- Has the patnesses of the other sections, as far as it exclusively concerns the passports issue in priority, according to the Common Minister Decision.
