What supporting documents do adults need, for the publication of a passport?
  • An application form provided by the Passport Office which also acts as a Statement of Truth in which the applicant states whether he/she:

- has been convicted of forgery, counterfeiting of certificates, fraudulent procurement of false official certification, embezzlement of documents, false testification or false declaration, given that these offences are in respect to the issuance, use, loss or theft of a passport or an identification card.
- has been convicted of abduction, human trafficking, kidnapping, or of acts in accordance with §5, 6, 7 of article 29 and § 1, 2 of article 30 o Law No. 4251/2014 (A 80).
- has a pending prohibition to exist the country,
- has been declared as draft-evader or deserter.
- has been declared as overseas draft-evader.
- serves a sentence involving deprivation of liberty or is in pre-trial detention.
- a pending unenforceable final conviction or warrant is issued against them.
- resides permanently at the stated address and if he/she has been issued a passport, in accordance with the provisions of the Law No. 3103/2003, which may have been lost, stolen or if a renewal or replacement passport is being requested.

  • Photocopy of both sides of identity card.

Permanent overseas residents who wish to be issued a passport at a consular authority and do not have a Greek identity card,must submit a birth certificate or certificate of civil (family) status from the municipality in which they are registered.

  • Receipt of deposited Administrative fees.
  1. For a 10 year expiration date passport, total value of 84,40 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 22 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 26,40 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
  2. For passports issued in accordance to Article 1 §3 P.D. 25/2022 and Article 4 §3 P.D. 25/2022, 13 month expiration date passport, total value of 68,80 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 9 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 10,80 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
  3. For cases where fingerprinting is currently unavailable, 8 month expiration date passport, total value of 63,40 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 4,5 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 5,40 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
  4. For passports issued in accordance to article 1 §4 case b P.D. 25/2022, 8 month expiration date passport, total value of 63,40 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 4,5 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 5,40 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
What supporting documents do minors need, for the publication of a passport?
  • An application form provided by the Passport Office which also acts as a Statement of Truth which includes:
  1. For an applicant under the age of thirteen (13) the legal guardian must certify:
    • the minor’s stated address and if a passport has been previously issued in their name, according to the provisions of the Law No. 3103/2003.
  2. An applicant over thirteen (13) years of age must state if he/she:
    • has been convicted of forgery, counterfeiting of certificates, fraudulent procurement of false official certification, embezzlement of documents, false testification or false declaration, given that these offences are in respect to the issuance, use, loss or theft of a passport or an identification card.
    • has been convicted of abduction, human trafficking, kidnapping, or of acts in accordance with §5, 6, 7 of article 29 and § 1, 2 of article 30 o Law No. 4251/2014 (A 80).
    • has a pending prohibition to exist the country.
    • serves a sentence involving deprivation of liberty or is in pre-trial detention.
    • a pending unenforceable final conviction or warrant is issued against them.

  • Photocopy of both sides of applicant’s identity card.
  • Birth certificate or Family status certificate (issued within the last 6 months) for applicants under twelve (12) years of age who do not have an identity card. A recent colour photo must be affixed on the certificate and must be validated by the local authorities where the application is enrolled.
  • Receipt of deposited Administrative fees.
  1. For a 10 year expiration date passport (applicant over 14 years of age), total value of 84,40 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 22 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 26,40 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
  2. For a 3 year expiration date passport (applicant up to 14 years of age), total value of 73,60 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:
    Stamp deposit fee: 13 euro + 20%(Organization of Rural Insurance) = total value 15,60 euro,
    Passport booklet fee: 53,00 euro and
    Postal fee: 5,00 euro.
  3. For passports issued in accordance to Article 1 §3 P.D. 25/2022 and Article 4 §3 P.D. 25/2022, 13 month expiration date passport, total value of 68,80 euro Administrative fee is required, which is apportioned to:

The aforementioned supporting documents are submitted and signed by the parents, as well as the minor if is over twelve (12) years of age. The minor’s presence is compulsory. If only one parent is present, the written consent of the other must be submitted with their validated signature.

If, due to reasons beyond their control, parents or legal guardians cannot be present a relative must be present with the written authorization of one parent and written consent of the other parent. Signatures have to have been validated by local authorities. If parents are unable to authorize a relative, a guardian is appointed and the supporting documents are submitted as specified in Articles 1601 and 1602 of the Civil Code.

What supporting documents should I submit if my passport is stolen or lost?

If your passport is stolen or lost, you must submit the stantard supporting documents along with a certification from Hellenic Authorities (Police or Consulate) on which the result of the conducted investigation is stated.

If I want to renew my passport what supporting documents do i need?

When can I deposit my supporting documents in order to renew my passport?

You can deposit the supporting documents, twelve (12) months before the expiry of your old passport.

Where from can I be supplied with Administrative fees?

Since 16-01-2015 a new process (e-Administrative fees) of supplying and depositing Administrative fees is being applied.

Can travel agencies/offices submit supporting documents, for citizen passport issuance?

No, submission of the supporting documents should be done in person, exclusively at Passport Offices in Greece (Hellenic Police) as well as at specific Hellenic consular authorities.
